Just recently we surpassed 1,000 Gecko Yoga Graduates! That is a lot of new yoga teachers going out into the world to share yoga with everybody!
So, we thought it would be a great opportunity to reach out to some recent Children’s Yoga Teacher Training graduates and find out what they are doing since they left the Gecko Academy.
From those teaching in our very own central Hong Kong studio to those teaching over in Singapore and Malaysia, our graduates are bringing yoga to people of all ages in communities across Asia.
Here’s where the Gecko Children’s Yoga Teacher Training has taken them…
Helen, from our 2017 CYTT, is teaching kids as young as 2 years all the way up to teenhood in Happy Valley. She is also having fun with stand-up paddleboard yoga at Stanley Beach!

Alison, another RCYT from the Gecko Yoga 95hr course, has gone on to build her very own yoga school, OmSkool, and helps as the assistant teacher for the 200hr Teacher Training at Gecko Academy!
She says her yoga is “fun and playful! With the intention of bringing each student to a place of happiness and peace through connecting with their body and their breath”.
As well as teaching yoga to kids, Alison specialises in prenatal yoga and yoga for runners as she is a passionate marathon runner herself.

Outside of Hong Kong, Vicky is teaching yoga to primary school kids in Malaysia and Victoria is teaching Hatha and Restorative yoga to senior school kids at a school in Singapore.
Vicky says that a huge influence from the 95hr Children’s Yoga Teacher Training was to remember that kids yoga should be fun!

The feedback we received when asking after our Gecko Graduates took us by surprise. Our teacher trainings are not just about teaching yoga, but fostering an open way of thinking and connecting with others and to hear that we achieved this gives us the strength to keep going in our mission!

Joanne is another Gecko graduate who studied her 200hr and 95hr with us and continues to teach classes at the Gecko Academy. She turned to yoga when she became a mom, feeling that it brought peace and harmony to her family. She then became a yoga teacher to help other families feel the same!
